Our Beginning

IT’S A BLESSING TO BE A BLESSING, INC. WAS FOUNDED IN 2012 BY DEIRDRE NORRIS OF HAGERSTOWN, MARYLAND. WE ARE A 501(C)(3), GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATION SEEKING TO HELP OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED. WE PROVIDE RESOURCES AND SERVICES INCLUDING:

  • Weekly hot meals and bagged lunches

  • Emergency help for individuals and families in crisis

  • Hygiene products and household goods

    and much more!

Deirdre has passion and purpose to be a blessing to others. In doing so, she believes it spreads kindness throughout our local community. She works tirelessly to feed the homeless, elderly and less fortunate weekly and as needed. Word about IT’S A BLESSING TO BE A BLESSING, INC. and its founder, Deirdre Norris is spreading throughout our county and we now partner with other community agencies so we can increase our capacity to spread blessings to others.

Our Mission

Inspiring our community to be a blessing by helping others. Hagerstown is one of the most under served homeless communities in Maryland. To combat this adversity, IT’S A BLESSING seeks to nourish our neighbors at the most fundamental level with access to hot, delicious food options, a strong support network, and referrals to other resources including healthcare, housing and social assistance, job search and training resources, and transportation.

FACT
